Not only are pickups beautiful, but they’re also powerful, which enables you to live that rugged lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of. And what better way to do it than with a Chevrolet truck by your side? One of their bestsellers is the Silverado, which is a full-sized truck.

Read on to see 5 things you didn’t know about the Chevrolet Silverado!

1. It Was First Introduced in 1999

The Silverado first debuted in 1999, although its history runs a bit longer than that. This line of trucks replaced the Chevrolet C/K model; in fact, “Silverado” was the top trim there!

Considering it’s been around for over 2 decades now, it’s safe to assume that it’s a crowd favorite.

2. There Are 4 Generations

Since 1999, there have been 4 generations of the Chevy Silverado. The first-generation Silverado was produced from 1999 to 2006, which was a decent run.

The next generations ran from:

  • 2007 to 2013 (2nd generation)
  • 2014 to 2018 (3rd generation)
  • 2017 to now (4th generation)

The latest model is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, which has drastic improvements when compared to the previous models. Most notably, this truck has an upgraded interior that makes all drivers happy.

3. There Are 8 Trims

If you’re someone who’s picky, then you won’t have to worry about a thing. This amazing truck comes in 8 trims: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT, Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country.

No matter which trim you choose, you’ll get a state-of-the-art touchscreen infotainment system. This includes Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

Some special features you can get on certain trims include OnStar with 4G LTE in-vehicle wifi, keyless access, remote starter system, push-button start, and driver-assist technologies.

4. There Are Special Edition Silverados

Do you like getting exclusive things in life? Then you’ll want to consider the special edition Silverados!

There’s the Rally Edition, which you can get on the Custom and RST trims. This offers black Rally stripes across the vehicle, as well as black assist steps and tailgate lettering.

There’s also the Midnight Edition, which gives you black assist steps too, as well as bucket seats and special headlamp bezels.

Lastly, there’s the Realtree Edition. You’ll get Realtree camouflage graphics and 20-inch black wheels.

5. There Will Be an Electric Version in 2023

As we become more and more eco-conscious, consumers want vehicles that’ll reduce their carbon footprints. If you’re one of them but still want to drive a large truck, then you’ll be pleased to know that there will be a Silverado EV released in mid-2023!

The Silverado EV will be fully electric and uses the GMC Hummer EV’s battery electric platform.
