Volkswagen has long been famous for the Beetle, and it’s easy to understand why. It’s an iconic car seen in many films and owned by millions of people.
However, Volkswagen also makes many other fantastic vehicles.
Is the Golf, Jetta, or Beetle too small for your needs? Then check out the Volkswagen Taos, a modern compact SUV that’s perfect for hauling kids, pets, and groceries.
If you’re looking to learn more about the Volkswagen Taos, we’ve put together a quick guide to the features and trims available. Read on to learn more!
Volkswagen Taos Features
The biggest feature of the Taos that sets it apart from others in its class is space.
The Taos features about 28 cubic feet of storage space in the rear trunk area. On top of that, the back seats fold down, adding more than double that space.
If fuel efficiency matters to you, the Volkswagen Taos delivers what you want. At 28 miles per gallon in the city and 36 on the highway, it has impressive fuel economy for a vehicle of its size.
This is due to the 1.5-liter I4 engine. While not a powerhouse of speed and acceleration, it is reliable and efficient.
It also has a push-button start, a rearview camera, in-car wifi (requires a subscription), and roof rails as additional standard options.
All trim levels are available in front-wheel or all-wheel-drive, although the all-wheel-drive models have slightly less cabin space and fuel economy.
Volkswagen Taos Trim Levels
There are three trim levels available for the Volkswagen Taos, making your choice of vehicle simple and straightforward.
S Model
The S model is the base trim level for the Taos. This comes in at about $24.5k without any optional features.
The S model has cloth seats, a 6.5″ infotainment system, two USB-C ports, and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
If you spring for the all-wheel-drive option, you also get upgraded to heated seats, mirrors, and windshield washer jets.
SE Model
The SE is the mid-tier trim level, priced at about $28.5k. The upgrades on this trim level are mainly for aesthetics and comfort but are well worth it.
With the SE, you get a larger 8″ infotainment system and blind-spot monitoring for additional safety. The sound system also gets an upgrade with an additional two speakers.
The driver’s seat also gets 8-way adjustment controls, and the seats are finished with leatherette and cloth.
SEL Model
This is the top-of-the-line trim option and starts at around $32.6k. This trim adds a 10.5″ infotainment and navigation system, LED headlights, heated leather seats, a Beats audio system, and 10-color ambient interior lighting.
It also adds full leather seats with heating and ventilation and a heated steering wheel.
