2023 Chevrolet Silverado

What’s New in the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado

The Chevy Silverado 1500 has long been regarded as one of the best in its class. The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado is a solid upgrade that keeps the best of last year’s equipment while making a number of interesting improvements. If you are in the market for a reliable and powerful truck, it’s hard to look past the Chevrolet Silverado.

In this blog post, we will take a closer look at the new Silverado, including its highlights and lowlights, and give our verdict on where it stands in the competitive truck market. Local Car Shopper is your premier choice when it comes to honest opinions about all the latest models in the market. Let’s get started.

2023 Chevrolet Silverado Overview

The new Chevy Silverado 1500 is available in a range of trims starting with the base-level Work Truck and Custom. The LT model is a step up and boasts a more impressive interior (and may be the best option for most people). Other trims include the Trail Boss, RST, LTZ, and High Country.

There is also a range of engines available, which means that there is a Silverado for any size of job. This includes a turbocharged four-cylinder, two V-8s, and a Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline-six. The top-of-the-line High Country model can go from zero to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, so it’s absolutely no slouch.

What’s New for 2023?

As we have highlighted, most of the equipment in the Silverado stays the same as last year’s model. That said, there are increases in both the power and torque of its Duramax diesel powertrain.

The updated turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax, which is available for the Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country, gains 35 pound-feet of torque and 28 horsepower for an improved output of 495 pound-feet of torque and 305 horsepower.

New fuel injectors and pistons with a revised combustion bowl also help to give this year’s diesel more muscle than before.

Highlights and Lowlights

What we love most about this year’s Chevrolet Silverado is the excellent powertrains, as well as the substantial towing capacity, which give this truck a feeling of power and performance. What’s more, the huge infotainment screen and well-designed interior always make for an enjoyable journey.

Compared to some other trucks, such as the Ram 1500, the Silverado doesn’t have the smoothest ride. Still, the Silverado is a tough truck that is well capable of tackling any terrain.

Our Verdict on the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado

The strongest attribute in the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado lineup is, in our opinion, the engine lineup. You’ll appreciate the crisp acceleration and powerful performance, as well as the spacious bed options and the six-function tailgate. On the whole, it’s easy to recommend the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado.
